Glenda Clwyd has been performing as a solo harpist since the age of 16, delighting Royalty, politicians and audiences internationally.
Her earliest successes include performances as an ambassador for Wales celebrating the twinning of Welsh towns with Europe such as Menden (Germany) with Flintshire and Stuttgart with Cardiff. She continued to promote Wales and its culture, touring the British Isles and the U.S.A.
Having graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Glenda pursued her dream of travelling the world with her harp; taking her to the Middle East where she performed as a soloist for the Royal family in Bahrain and aboard the Royal Viking Cruise Liner touring Russia, Denmark, Finland, Holland, Sweden and Norway.
Here in the UK, her career as a solo performer consists of playing at numerous music festivals, national and international Eisteddfodau and alongside eminent choirs including Treorchy, Pendyrus, Llanelli, Dowlais and Llantrisant. She has also performed in many concerts at Cathedrals and Churches such as St. Davids', Pembrokeshire, Wells, Worcester, Exeter, Chester and Llandaff as well as prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican, Wales Millennium Centre, St Davids Hall and the Café Royal in London.
Throughout her career, she has maintained her public profile by appearing in the media regularly as well as on television and radio.
Most recently, Glenda has performed aboard The World for the residents as the headline artist, at private recitals for Forbes Gina Rinehart and at St Fagans Castle, Cardiff; performing a programme for Swiss music specialists visiting the principality.
Her forthcoming season of performances will include Ravel's Introduction and Allegro, Mozart's Flute and Harp Concerto and Nino Rota's Quintet at the 2011 Hartland Music Festival.
Glendas repertoire is extensive and includes Classical and Welsh programmes as well as lighter Contemporary music.
